Standard Connector Pinouts (USB & DC Jack)
Quickly identify the power and data pins for common electronics connectors. This reference covers standard USB-A, USB-C, and Barrel DC Jacks to ensure safe and correct wiring for your devices.
| Connector | Pin 1 | Pin 2 | Pin 3 | Pin 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| USB-A | VCC (+5V) | Data – | Data + | GND |
| DC Jack | Center (Positive) | Outer (Negative) | – | – |
| Micro USB | VCC (+5V) | Data – | Data + | ID (NC) |
USB-C Note: USB-C pinouts are significantly more complex (24 pins). Always refer to a high-resolution breakout board map before soldering.
Polarity Check: Always use a multimeter to verify the center-pin polarity of a DC adapter, as some rare devices use "Center Negative" wiring.
